Dragon Ball FighterZ Broly (DBS) Gameplay Trailer

Bandai Namco released the the official gameplay trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ's next DLC fighter, the Dragon Ball Super movie version of Broly. The latest trailer offers a look at some of DBS Broly's moveset and ridiculous power. As we previously reported, Broly (DBS) has his "Blaster Meteor" Super Special Attack and "Gigantic Roar" Meteor Attack. Broly (DBS) will be available for purchase individually and is part of the DBFZ FighterZ Pass 2

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Ver. 2.0 Celica & Susanoo Trailers

On November 21st, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle will receive its Version 2.0 update, adding 9 new characters to the game. Arc System Works released the final two character introduction trailers for BBTag Ver. 2.0, highlighting Celica A. Mercury and Susanoo from the BlazBlue series. Like other returning characters, Celica and Susanoo will play similarly to their previous versions but will also feature some new tweaks and updates.

Terry Bogard Now Available in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

This morning, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai showcased Terry Bogard on Nintendo's live stream and announced the Fatal Fury hero is now available for download! The King of Fighters stage was also added to the game and features a ton of KOF character cameos in the background. Smash Ultimate's 6.0.0 update also adds Mii Fighter Wigs / Outfits based on Ryo Sakazaki, Iori Yagami, Nakoruru, Akira Yuki, and Jacky Bryant.

Samurai Shodown (2019) Nintendo Switch Trailer #2

Back in June, 2019's Samurai Shodown reboot launched on PS4 and XB1. Nintendo Switch owners will soon be able to jump into the new Samurai Shodown when the game launches in Japan on December 12th, 2019. With the Switch port arriving soon, SNK dropped a new trailer for the Nintendo Switch version, showing some gameplay on Switch along with footage of the NEOGEO Pocket version of Samurai Shodown 2! - an added bonus when purchasing the game (confirmed for Japan).

Guilty Gear 2020 Chipp Zanuff & Potemkin Reveal Trailer, Over 1 Hour of Gameplay, PS4 Closed Beta

With an exciting new new trailer, Arc System Works revealed Chipp Zanuff and Potemkin will be returning in Guilty Gear 2020. Chipp and Potemkin join Sol Badguy, Ky Kiske, May, and Axl Low as the 6 playable characters featured in the upcoming ARCREVO America 2019 demo. Additionally, a PlayStation 4 closed beta is planned for Spring 2020. ASW also confirmed the final version will have both English and Japanese voiceovers.

Soul Calibur 6 Adds Hilde in Season 2, Reveal Trailer

After the conclusion of the Soul Calibur 6 World Invitational tournament, producer Motohiro Okubo took the stage to announce the newest character to join Season 2's roster. Originally debuting in Soul Calibur 4, Hilde will enter Season 2 of Soul Calibur 6 with her short sword and spear. Hilde will also have her own Soul Chronicle story chapter and customization items when she becomes available.

Capcom Merchandise Store Opens in Tokyo This Month

On November 22nd, 2019, Capcom is opening a new merchandise store in Japan called Capcom Store Tokyo. The store is opening PARCO Shibuya, the same building where the famous Pokemon Center Shibuya and Nintendo Tokyo store are located. Capcom Store Tokyo will be offering exclusive merch from T-shirts & plushies to Capcom-themed candy, and even Monster Hunter & Phoenix Wright perfume. Shinkiro even created a special illustration for the store's grand opening...

The History of Marvel Vs. Capcom's Special Partners

Desk recently uploaded an informative and fun-to-watch video all about Marvel Vs. Capcom's "Special Partners". The first installment of MVC featured 21 playable characters and 22 non-playable Special Partners who can jump in for an assist attack. Desk's 16-minute video covers every Special Partner and their history in classic Capcom games. The video even goes into detail about how some Special Partners eventually became playable in later games.

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Ver. 2.0 Adachi Gameplay Trailer

Later this month, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle will be updated to Verdion 2.0, adding 9 new characters to the roster. Arc System Works posted the latest character gameplay / character intro trailer today, this time for Persona 4 Arena's Tohru Adachi. The new 1-minute trailer covers some of Adachi's moveset and updates.

Evolution 2020 Reveal Trailer, Official Dates Announced

Today on Twitter, Joey "Mr. Wizard" Cuellar announced the official dates for next year's Evolution Championship Series. EVO returns to the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 31st - August 2nd. While the official games lineup has yet to be revealed, the EVO 2020 trailer shows footage from last year's tournaments in TEKKEN 7, SFV: Arcade Edition, Dragon Ball FighterZ, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, and Soul Calibur VI, pretty much confirming these games will be returning in 2020.

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Ver. 2.0 Hilda Gameplay Trailer

Arc System Works is back with another 1-minute character introduction trailer for BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Ver. 2.0. This time, check out some gameplay from Hilda, the original boss of Under Night In-Birth. Those familiar with Hilda's moveset will see many of her specials return, in addition to some brand new techniques. On November 21st, Hilda joins 8 other new characters coming in BBTag's Version 2.0 update.

Capcom Plans to "Revive Dormant IPs" Due to Success of Devil May Cry 5, RE2 Remake & Monster Hunter World 

Love or hate Street Fighter V... there's no denying Capcom has had a very successful 2019 with their critically-acclaimed high-selling action, action RPG, and survival horror titles leading the way. Namely, Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 2 Remake, and Monster Hunter World were all massive hits, selling over 18.5 million units collectively. Due to this recent success, Capcom stated that they are planning to "revive dormant IPs" which could end up being great news for fighting game fans.

TEKKEN 7 Season 3 Winter Update Includes In-Game Frame Data, Punishment Training Features, Harada Costume

During this weekend's Tokyo TEKKEN Masters 2019, Bandai Namco announced new modes and features on the way to TEKKEN 7 this Winter. For starters, Practice Mode will be upgraded with an all new "Punishment Training" feature, making it easier for players to learn how to properly punish and counter attacks for every move and character. My Replay & Tips mode will also teach players ways to punish. A new in-game Frame Data Display feature will also be implemented...

Samurai Shodown (2019) Arcade Launch Confirms Sogetsu

Today, the arcade version of Samurai Showdown (2019) launches in Japan. On the official website for the game, arcade players logging into their NESiCAxlive2 accounts spotted an unconfirmed (until now) upcoming DLC fighter for the game on the website's top banner. In November, Samurai Shodown IV's Kazuki Kazama is set to arrive in the new Samurai Shodown as the next DLC fighter. The leaked image has confirmed Kazuki's brother, Sogetsu, will also be coming to the title.

The King of Fighters: All Star Now Available on iOS / Android

The Netmarble-developed action RPG, The King of Fighters: All Star, is now available to download worldwide on iOS / Android. Beginning in July 2018, SNK & Netmarble have updated KOF: All Star with a vast amount of new playable characters, events, and costumes. Netmarble confirmed they will be updating the worldwide edition at a similar pace to the original Japan & Korea versions. Dragon Ball FighterZ Broly (DBS) First Screenshots

Bandai Namco released brand new HD screenshots of Dragon Ball FighterZ's upcoming DLC fighter, Broly, from his appearance in the Dragon Ball Super (2018) animated movie. While the original version of Broly is already a playable character in DBFZ, the Broly (DBS) will have an entirely different look and playstyle. Broly (DBS) has a Super Special Attack called "Blaster Meteor" and "Gigantic Roar" is his Meteor Attack. No official release date for Broly (DBS) has been announced.

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Blitztank Introduction Trailer

One of the most menacing and distinctive new characters arriving in BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Ver. 2.0 is definitely Blitztank. Originally from the 2D fighting game Akatsuki Blitzkampf, this uniquely-shaped, electrical-powered tank can jump, crouch, shoot various projectiles, and overwhelm opponents with its firepower and heavy armor. Arc System Works' latest BBTAG character intro trailer runs through some of Blitztank's abilities, strengths, and special moves.

SNK's Nobuyuki Kuroki Interviewed by Unreal Engine on Samurai Shodown's Jump from 2D to 3D Graphics

In a new interview with the guys over at Unreal Engine, SNK Art & Game Director Nobuyuki Kuroki discusses the shift from 2D to 3D and the strategy behind bringing Samurai Shodown into the modern era. In the interview, Kuroki reflects on the series 20 year history, elaborates on the development and artistic direction of the new game, and explains how the UE4 engine was used to create the graphics, character models, and stages.

Riot Games League of Legends 2.5D Fighting Game First Look

First announced at EVO '19, Riot Games has finally shed some light on their mysterious 2.5D fighting game in development... currently titled "Project L". In their 10th Anniversary YouTube video, Riot published the first ever gameplay and details about their upcoming League of Legends themed fighter. Details are scarce at the moment, but the first gameplay footage & screenshots confirm playable characters: Darius (Male axe user) and Ahri (female mage).

Skullgirls: 2nd Encore Comes to Nintendo Switch October 22nd

An "instant cult classic" 2D fighting game series is finally making its way to Nintendo Switch. A version of Skullgirls was originally slated for a 2018 Switch release, but was mysteriously delayed until now. Publisher Skybound Games announced that Skullgirls: 2nd Encore will be available for purchase on October 22nd, 2019 as a digital title. The official Nintendo product page confirms the digital Switch edition of Skullgirls: 2nd Encore will cost $24.99.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Zeta & Vaseraga Reveal Trailer, Japan PS4 Box Art, New Character Art/Bios

Launching February 6th, 2020 in Japan, Granblue Fantasy Versus is looking to be a vibrant and highly competitive 2.5D fighter by Arc System Works. Cygames just released the latest character trailers for GBVS, revealing Zeta and Vaseraga to complete the launch roster of 11 characters. Guilty Gear (2020) Axl Low Gameplay Trailer

At SEAM 2019, Arc System Works debuted a gameplay reveal trailer for the latest character to be announced for Guilty Gear (2020), Axl Low. Arc System Works also announced the first playable demo of the new Guilty Gear will be available at ARCREVO America 2019. In addition to Sol Badguy, Ky Kiske, May, and Axl Low... 2 additional characters will be revealed soon and playable in the upcoming demo. The next character reveal trailer will debut on Arc Live on Nov. 3rd (6PM PST).

Soul Calibur VI Season 2 New Moves Trailer

Bandai Namco unveiled a new Soul Calibur VI trailer at SEAM 2019. The 2-minute long trailer highlights brand new moves for every character in the game. Like TEKKEN 7 Season 3, all returning characters will get new attacks and balance updates. Soul Calibur VI Season 2 will also feature a crossover with the Samurai Shodown series, adding Haohmaru to the roster. Bandai Namco hasn't announced the release date for Season 2, but we might learn more at the SC6 World Invitational.

Samurai Shodown Basara Gameplay Trailer, Joins Roster Oct. 15th

SNK has announced October 15th as the release date for Samurai Shodown 2019's next DLC character, Basara Kubikiri. SNK posted Basara's full gameplay reveal trailer, previewing the SSIII veteran's classic fighting style and demonic special moves. Like nearly all other returning characters, Basara plays closely to his original "Slash" version from prior games. However, Basara does have his "fake shadow" clone technique from his "Bust" version.

All Mortal Kombat 11 Dialogue Intros Featuring The Terminator

The Terminator T-800 is now available in Mortal Kombat 11 for those who purchased the Kombat Pack. MKIceAndFire put together a video compilation showing all of The Terminator's pre-fight dialogue intros with the rest of the cast. Even if you're not a serious fighting game / Mortal Kombat 11 player, you can appreciate MK11's presentation and polish during these entertaining pre-fight scenes.

New Samurai Shodown (2019) Character Artwork for Basara, Kazuki, Wan-Fu, Rimururu & Shizumaru

SNK's official SamSho 2019 website posted new character art / bios for upcoming Season 1 DLC characters Basara, Kazuki, and Wan-Fu - in addition to Shizumaru & Rimururu (who are currently available). Basara is the next DLC character arriving in Samurai Shodown (2019) this month. Although Basara's exact release date hasn't been announced, the Oct. 15th release date for the previously reported SamSho X Puzzle & Dragons crossover costumes could possibly include Basara.

Samurai Shodown X Puzzle & Dragons Crossover DLC Costumes Revealed for Samurai Shodown (2019)

Samurai Shodown (2019) is getting its first batch of crossover costumes on PS4. SNK is once again collaborating with Gungho-developed puzzle RPG series, Puzzle & Dragons, revealing new in-game costumes for Genjuro Kibagami and Shiki based on the P&D characters, Fangjin and Pazdra. The DLC costumes release in Japan (possibly worldwide) on Tuesday, October 15th. Each DLC costume costs 300 yen each. BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Ver. 2.0 Neo Politan Trailer

Today, Arc System Works debuted a new gameplay trailer for one of the 9 new DLC characters coming soon to BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle. RWBY's Neo Politan demonstrates her unique style of fighting utilizing her umbrella with a concealed blade (not unlike Shizumaru from Samurai Shodown). The quick 1-minute gameplay trailer provides a quick rundown of Neo Politan's special moves and how to perform them.

The King of Fighters: All Star Releases Worldwide on October 22nd, Pre-Registration Now Open

SNK just announced the Western / worldwide release date for the Netmarble-developed action RPG, KOF: All Star. The game officially launches for Android & iOS on October 22nd, 2019. Pre-registration is currently open on the official website (and it's free)! Early adopters can receive unique rewards & missions for pre-registering. KOF: All Star originally released in Japan in July 2018 and features a large playable roster, awesome artwork, beat-em-up style gameplay, new PVP mode, etc.

Mortal Kombat 11 Terminator Gameplay Reveal Trailer

The time has come for the world to see Arnold Schwarzenegger... in a fighting game. Well, Mortal Kombat 11's T-800 Terminator isn't actually voiced by Arnold himself, but the doppelganger who does Arnold's voice in the game sounds pretty much, mostly like him. This morning, NetherRealm Studios unveiled Terminator T-800's full gameplay reveal trailer, check it out! T-800's moveset is full of shotguns, teleports, headbutts, and traditional ass-kicking you'd expect from The Terminator.

Axl Low Confirmed for Guilty Gear 2020, May Gameplay Trailer

Tonight, Arc System Works shared May's official gameplay trailer for Guilty Gear 2020, giving fans the first glimpse of May's reimagined appearance and fighting style. Secondly, the end of May's trailer confirms the return of another series veteran, Axl Low. Arc System Works announced that the next Guilty Gear 2020 trailer will debut at SEA Major 2019 in Singapore (Oct. 12th-13th).

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Ver. 2.0 Yumi Trailer, New Gameplay

Launching on November 21st, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle: Special Edition / 2.0 will add 9 playable characters to the 2D crossover's roster. Arc System Works posted some gameplay footage of one of the brand new characters coming to BBTAG in 2.0, Yumi from Senran Kagura. In addition to seeing the first gameplay of icy cold Yumi, take a look at over 1 hour of new gameplay featuring Blitztank, Akatsuki, Adachi, Celica, Susanoo, and others.
