REVIEW:
Maxi's fighting
style is of the most fluid and entertaining fighting styles ever to be seen in a
fighting game, and he proved to be an effective replacement for Li
Long. Namco did an outstanding job on nailing the animation of
his unique nunchaku style which has "become" him... He's got plenty of
personality, and is now one of the most well known characters from the Soul
series. Some might call him an Elvis impersonator, but hey, he's the first
elvis-inspired character
in the fighting game world if you want to call him that.
Maxi has proven to be a popular character for beginner Soul Calibur
players, since mashing buttons can lead to some diverse and flashy combo
strings; but as you may have figured out, mashing buttons just doesn't work
against "skilled" players... Might work against other beginners or
"intermediate" players though. On the flipside, Maxi in the hands of a
truly skilled player can be an incredible thing to see.
