UDON Announces Shinkiro Masterworks

Few artists have shaped the visual identity of the fighting game genre quite like the legendary illustrator Shinkiro, whose meticulously detailed, realistic, and painted aesthetic defined the golden eras of both SNK and Capcom. Celebrating over 35 years of his monumental career, UDON Entertainment has announced the release of two massive retrospective art books: Capcom Masterworks: Shinkiro and SNK Masterworks: Shinkiro. These comprehensive volumes collect decades of iconic illustrations, spanning his legendary tenure at SNK—where he crafted the definitive looks for Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, and The King of Fighters—to his transition to Capcom, where he illustrated masterpieces for Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and Final Fight.

The highly anticipated art books are making their advance debut at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, where UDON Entertainment is hosting Shinkiro for his historic return to the convention after more than 20 years. For fans attending the event, exclusive Deluxe Editions of both Capcom Masterworks: Shinkiro and SNK Masterworks: Shinkiro are available at the UDON booth (#100) for $70 each, featuring premium metallic foil and spot-gloss cover treatments.

To commemorate the release, UDON is also hosting ticketed signing sessions with the artist throughout the weekend, alongside releasing limited-edition merchandise including a Shinkiro-designed Street Fighter collectible metal card set and oversized character pins.

For enthusiasts unable to attend the convention, UDON has ensured these career-spanning retrospectives remain accessible. A select number of the Deluxe Editions are available for pre-order directly from the publisher's online store, UDONstore.com. Meanwhile, the Standard Editions of both masterworks are now widely available for purchase at major retailers, including Amazon and Barnes & Noble. These publications offer fighting game historians and art enthusiasts an unprecedented, high-quality archive of the illustrations that helped define modern gaming culture.
