Multiple Sources Claim Capcom will Announce Street Fighter 6 at Capcom Pro Tour Season Finals

Capcom's ongoing mystery countdown concludes at the Capcom Pro Tour 2021 Season Finals this Sunday. Fighting Game fans already have more than a few reasons to suspect a big announcement from Capcom during Sunday's Street Fighter V: Champion Edition Finals... and now, several sources have claimed that Capcom's countdown and reveal DOES involve the highly-anticipated Street Fighter 6 which Capcom previously confirmed is in development. According to VideoGamesChronicle, multiple sources including GamesBeat journalist Jeff Grubb, claim that Capcom will indeed be announcing something regarding Street Fighter 6 this weekend.

"Everybody should expect Street Fighter 6, because that's what I have heard,"
said Jeff Grubb in his latest GiantBomb video show. Although Capcom has yet to confirm the announcement involves its flagship fighting franchise, the fact that the countdown coincides with the conclusion of the CPT '21 Street Fighter V: Champion Edition Season Finals definitely seems intentional at this point. According to Capcom's website, the reveal will take place at 1am ET / 6am GT on Monday, February 21st (or Sunday at 10pm PT).

Street Fighter V originally released in 2016 on PlayStation 4 and PC. The game was updated to SFV: Arcade Edition in 2017, followed by Champion Edition in 2020 — spanning five Seasons of content and over 2000 DLC items. Six years after the original launch of Street Fighter V seems like a more-than-appropriate time to finally unveil Street Fighter 6. In January, Capcom announced the 35th Anniversary of the series and told fans, "Please look forward to the future development of the Street Fighter series."

[UPDATE] Capcom has officially announced Street Fighter 6!

The Capcom Pro Tour 2021 Season Final runs February 17 – 20, 2022. RobTV and Brian_Flead kick off the festivities with a special 5-vs-5 Street Fighter V: Champion Edition exhibition team tournament featuring top players from North America. You can find more information about the event at the CPT official site.

Fighters Generation was invited by Capcom Fighters to co-stream the event and the conclusion of the countdown! So if you're not busy, tune in tomorrow night and hang out on TFG's Twitch channel for Capcom's reveal! As always, keep it here on FightersGeneration.com for more updates and continued coverage.
