GENERAL/STORY:
The rich and eccentric
Count Ludwig Von Sabrewulf (human) was well known for being a thrill-seeker.
For his latest stunt, he decided to participate in the Killer Instinct
Martial arts tournament. Count Sabrewulf was actually a great fighter,
having been classically trained by some of the finest masters around the
world. As a result, he took first place in Killer Instinct 4. Meanwhile,
Ultratech scientists were able to genetically engineered the once fictional
disease known as lycanthropy. The only task that remained was to
infect someone with it. Although they had a vast resource of convicts
to choose from, displaying perhaps a sense of evil irony, they decided
to infect Count Sabrewulf.
For the next three years, Count Sabrewulf would
try everything in his power to get rid of his condition. Not even
the greatest scientific minds could make any progress. In fact, his
condition got worse; soon, he couldn't revert back to his human form. Sabrewulf
had almost lost all hope when he was contacted by the Ultratech Corporation.
They informed him that they might be able to find a cure, and the only
price they would charge would be if he would participate in another Killer
Instinct. Truly desperate at this point, Sabrewulf agreed. Sabrewulf
found that the seventh Killer Instinct tournament was radically different
than the fourth. The fighters were more intense, more skilled, and
in some cases, murderous. Sabrewulf refused to allow the beast to
get the best of him, and held back during most of the tournament.
As a result, he was beaten badly by Glacius.
After the timeshift, President Sheridan found Sabrewulf. Disappointed
in his performance, but not discouraged, he ordered that cybernetics be
integrated into his systems. Unfortunately, this also eliminates
any hope for a cure, since his biology was changed. This finally
drives Sabrewulf over the edge, as he agrees to become an Ultratech fighter.
His mind is consumed with thoughts of revenge (mostly towards Glacius),
and hatred.

REVIEW:
I suppose a werewolf
can only have so much personality, but Sabrewulf had an undeniably cool fighting
style for the time, definitely the highlight of his design. He's probably among
the best
character designs in the KI series, and also one of the most fun characters to
use in the series. Some people might just dub him as an oversized wolf
in a pair of pants, but hey... He's a werewolf, and that's the dress code for
werewolves. Ohh yeah, in the original KI he only wore a shirt (no pants). I'm
glad he finally decided to cover up his shame. lol.
