Determined and strong
minded, Michelle Chang has a deep love for her family and a vengeful nature
towards those who threaten them. Michelle also possesses a strong love for
nature and the environment, a principle which is later passed on to her
adopted daughter, Julia.
Michelle's
mother
is a native
American and her father is a Hong Kong man. On her 18th birthday, Michelle
learns that her father was murdered
by Heihachi's people. She enters the
first Tekken tournament to take revenge on "Mishima."
Before the
events of Tekken 2, Kazuya
Mishima finds out that the pendant that Michelle wears around her neck
carries the secret to an ancient treasure, and plans to take it from her.
Kazuya arranges for Michelle's mother to be kidnapped to lure Michelle to
enter the second tournament. Michelle enters the tournament to rescue her
mother at all costs.
Before the events of Tekken
3, Michelle is kidnapped by Heihachi
Mishima for
her pendant, which is the reason Julia entered the tournament. Heihachi plans
to use her pendant to awaken Ogre in the
Aztec Temple and succeeds. After the events of Tekken 3, Michelle's
whereabouts are unknown.

The original "Indian Girl" of
Tekken was definitely a memorable character at the time of
her debut. You can call her the "Pocahontas" of
the fighting game world. Of course, she's best known for wearing her
stereotypical Native American attire, and she always made it look pretty sexy. ;) Her
alternate outfit in Tekken 1 is decent but kinda plain, and her Tekken
2 second player outfit with zebra socks & armbands is a bit loud & awkward... but somehow, she makes it work. lol.
Michelle was always a "sleeper" character
in Tekken, which is likely why Julia replaced her in Tekken 3 and
after. Besides, Michelle was gettin' up there in age anyway. lol. Julia became
a more developed character overall, but her connection to Michelle is
unforgettable to veteran Tekken fans. Next to Jun, Michelle is probably the "nicest" out of all
of the fighters from
Tekken... which kinda makes sense since she appears to be sitting out of the
tournament these days. After years of absence, Michelle returned in TTT2.
Her updated fighting style features a fan-approved mix of new & old techniques,
and her updated look is nothing short of hotness. Now that Julia is "Jaycee", Michelle
is once again the lone Indian babe of Tekken! ;)
