Jin's father (Ken
Saotome) belonged to a unit that was killed in an accident one year before
the start of Cyberbots. To honor his memory he seeks to become the best
VA pilot alive and wants to prove his worth through the VA battle circuit.
He begins to question his father's death after meeting SHADE for the first
time. Jin's mood goes from calm to rage within seconds, but he remains
a good guy. He is also friends with Gawaine Murdock. His main mech is BX-02 Blodia.

Jin Saotome debuted
in the obscure robot fighting game, Cyberbots. As the "Ryu"
of Cyberbots, he rightfully earned his place in Marvel VS Capcom.
You could say that Jin was virtually a "nobody" until his epic debut
in MVC, where he was given his own unique fighting style, Instead of
fighting from inside of his huge mech.
In Marvel VS Capcom, Jin's hot-headed
personality is probably one of the greatest parts of his design, and he's got a
badass, hard-hitting fighting style to back it up.
Besides the giant robot that fights on his side, his fighting techniques are so
over-exaggerated, well thought out, and very well executed. Jin throws some of
the hardest punches I've ever seen thrown. Period. He also has one of the best war cries to go along with
his intense fighting style....
So much emotion! BLOOODIAAA!!!
To top it all off, he's one cool looking dude. An awesome design that Capcom
should've used in more fighting games (especially MVC3).
