Street Fighter 6 Alex Motion Capture Behind-the-Scenes Video and Interview with Kenny Omega

Capcom released an awesome behind-the-scenes video showing professional wrestler Kenny Omega working Alex's motion capture in Street Fighter 6. It was revealed in the Alex's official gameplay trailer that some of Kenny Omega's own signature moves and his finisher (V-Trigger and One Winged Angel to name a few) are now part of Alex's SF6 moveset. On January 21st, 2026, Omega shared photographic evidence of himself in a motion capture suit at Capcom's studios, confirming he worked extensively on Alex's animations. A standout technique of this collaboration is the "Omega Wing Buster," a Level 2 Super Art that serves as a direct homage to Omega's wrestling finisher. This move requires a successful OD Power Drop to trigger and features Alex performing a knee strike followed by a modified piledriver, complete with a visual flourish of a single black wing—a nod to the "One-Winged Angel" and Omega's affinity for Final Fantasy VII.

In 2018, Kenny Omega appeared in a Street Fighter V promotional video when Cody Travers was announced for the game. Kenny himself appeared as the new mayor of Metro City, Cody Travers, in the video. It's was appropriate for those in the know, because Kenny is known for using Street Fighter and other video game inspirations in his own pro wrestling moveset. In one match, he specifically threw an item at an opponent and yelled "Hah hah!" in the same fashion Cody does when he performs his rock throw in SFA3.

Kenny also named his flying knee attack "V-Trigger" after Street Fighter V's trademark mechanic, a move he also became famous for during his time in NJPW and later in AEW. Alex is another one of Kenny's favorite Street Fighter characters, so it's definitely awesome to see things come full circle, with Alex performing some of Kenny's moves in SF6. This is the type of fan service we love! Take a look at some official behind the scenes photos (below) of The Cleaner in full motion capture gear during the development of Alex's next-level SF6 animation.

Kenny Omega also sat down with IGN for an interview about how he came around to working on Alex's motion capture for Capcom. See IGN's video above for the full interview. Keep it here on The Fighters Generation for more content.
