	New Arc System Works Fighting Game, Dungeon Fighter Duel Announced

  

Today, during Neople's Dungeon and Fighter Universe festival in South Korea, Arc System Works announced their latest 2D fighting game project: Dungeon Fighter Duel (DNF Duel for short), based on the Dungeon Fighter Online series. Currently in development, DNF Duel will have a similar aesthetic to Granblue Fantasy Versus and Guilty Gear -STRIVE-, using a 3D graphics engine with 2D and anime-inspired visuals. Eighting (the former developers of MvC3) have also been confirmed to be working on DNF Duel in some capacity. Aside from the official reveal trailer (below), no specific details or release dates have yet been announced.     Dungeon Fighter Online was first published in 2005 by Korean game developer, Neople. The game now has 700 million players worldwide and hit 15 billion in sales as of May 2020. It's likely the fighting game spin-off, DNF Duel, will feature plenty of RPG elements and/or possibly something similar to Granblue Fantasy Versus' RPG Mode.
