Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Cowabunga Collection Coming in 2022, Includes 13 Classic Games

It was announced during Sony's State of Play 2022 showcase that Nickelodeon, Digital Eclipse, and Konami are teaming up to release Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection a compilation of 13 classic TMNT beat-em-up titles and fighting games released in arcades and consoles back in the 90s. The compilation conveniently includes all three different versions of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (NES, SNES, Genesis) which are three entirely different games (in case you didn't know), all confusingly sharing the same title. On that note, one good thing about Cowabunga Collection is that it will finally alleviate that confusion, allowing players to easily experience all 3 different versions. Additionally, the iconic and frantic 8-bit / 16-bit four-player beat-em-up titles released across arcades, NES, SNES, and Genesis make Cowabunga Collection an enticing package for old school fans and new players alike. Watch the official announce trailer, below.

Below is the full games list of TMNT: Cowabunga Collection.
  •  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Arcade)

  •  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time (Arcade)

  •  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES)

  •  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Arcade Game (NES)

  •  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: The Manhattan Project (NES)

  •  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (NES)

  •  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4: Turtles in Time (SNES)

  •  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (SNES)

  •  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist (Sega Genesis)

  •  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (Sega Genesis)

  •  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of The Foot Clan (Game Boy)

  •  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Back From The Sewers (Game Boy)

  •  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Radical Rescue (Game Boy)

In addition to online and local multiplayer, PlayStation.Blog confirmed Digital Eclipse is including several "quality of life" features for the compilation including Rewind and Save Anytime options. Digital Eclipse is also including custom "game guides" inspired by the aesthetic of 80's and 90's video game magazines to help get players through notoriously tricky parts of the 8-bit and 16-bit beat-em-ups.
From PS.Blog: "The original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and TMNT: Turtles in Time feature local and online multiplayer. The 8-bit TMNT II: The Arcade Game, TMNT III: The Manhattan Project, and the 16-bit TMNT IV: Turtles in Time, and The Hyperstone Heist will also have all the local multi-player fun of yesteryear.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Cowabunga Collection will be released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S later in 2022. Additional details will be revealed at a later date.
