2XKO Early Access Now Live, Warwick Gameplay Reveal Trailer, Dev Update Videos

Riot Games' highly anticipated 2V2 fighting game, 2XKO, officially enters its early access phase today for PC players, bringing with it a host of new content, system changes, and two exciting additions to its roster: Warwick and Teemo. This public launch followed the recent closed beta period, with Riot promising that all progress made during early access on PC will carry over to console versions upon their eventual release. The closed beta for 2XKO lasted from its start on Sep. 9 - Oct. 7, 2025, when it transitioned to early access. The developers ran the closed beta for several weeks to test server infrastructure, tune the matchmaking, and fix bugs before the game enters its next phase.

Above, Riot Games released a 2XKO cinematic trailer featuring Courtney LaPlante of Spiritbox. Warwick and Teemo join the early access roster, bringing the total playable champions to eleven. Early information on Warwick suggests he'll be a rushdown character with a unique "Bloodlust" resource that enhances his abilities when full. Teemo, the Swift Scout, known for his mischievous traps and zoning capabilities, will also be available, allowing players to utilize his poisonous mushrooms and darts to control the battlefield.

In addition to the reveal of Warwick, last week, Riot Games revealed yet another furry fighting creature for 2XKO, Teemo. You can watch Teemo's reveal trailer and the accompanying developer update video (below).

The early access launch, dubbed "Season 0," introduces a significant update (Patch 1.01) today, which will be followed by another patch (1.0.1.1) on Oct. 9 that will mark the beginning of Ranked play. Beyond the new characters, players can expect a comprehensive overhaul of core gameplay mechanics, including adjustments to Breaks, meter gain, and Fuses. Character-specific balance changes are being implemented for existing champions like Ahri, Blitzcrank, Braum, Darius, Ekko, Illaoi, Jinx, Vi, and Yasuo, with some changes arriving on Oct. 7 and others on Oct. 9.

New features such as Combo Trials, offering over 250 combos to learn, and an improved Training Mode with a frame data bar, aim to enhance the player experience and provide valuable tools for mastering the game. Additionally, two new stages, Bandlewood Crossing and Firelight Run, will be available, inspired by the diverse regions of Runeterra.

Riot Games has also outlined plans for a Battle Pass system with free and premium tracks, various Starter Editions, and upcoming Mega Bundles throughout Season 0, offering a wide array of cosmetic options for players. Keep it here
on The Fighters Generation for continued coverage.
