Lao is an ordinary
street fighter. He is shown being defeated by Rick
Strowd and Li Xiangfei during the opening movies of
Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 and Fatal Fury: 1st Contact. His first and only a playable fighting game appearance is in Fatal Fury 1st Contact. After
losing to Rick and Xiangfei, Lao joins Bonne
Jenet's Lillien Knights.

Lao is a beloved character that only the true SNK historians know about. I like him. Lao's
pompadour is pretty epic, but he seems to suck at fighting... lol. I remember wondering who he was when I first played Fatal Fury: 1st Contact in 1999. Many years later, I realized he makes a cameo during
B. Jenet's win pose in Garou: Mark of the Wolves.
He's probably most well-known from the
intro of Real Bout Fatal Fury 2... where he's getting beat up. lol. Pretty cool fan service by SNK for the 3 people who remember Lao! Anyhow, Lao's 8-bit NGPC sprite in Fatal Fury: 1st Contact has quite a bit of personality. He alone might be a good reason to pick up the game. Look at that stance animation! He's got a better stance animation than most
Mortal Kombat characters. Don't confuse him for
Kung Lao. FUN FACT: Lao moves copies of Fatal Fury. He's a legend. (He paid me to write that.)
