Q

BIO:

Not much is known about the mysterious being known as "Q". He's been reported to be in completely different places at the same times based on various eyewitness accounts. He has been spotted in every country around the world. Some believe that he may be linked to various disasters. No one knows Q's real name, or if he's human or not. However, it's more likely he's a machine due to the fact that when electrocuted, Q's muscular system is shown along with an indistinct head... but not a skull. The CIA is still searching for Q. Sometime between SF4 and SF5, Crimson Viper of the CIA is investigating him. Q's moveset and appearance seem to have some unknown connection to G.

FUN FACT: Q's visual design was inspired by "K" from
Robot Detective, a tokusatsu superhero TV series created by Shotaro Ishinomori and produced by Toei Company Ltd. The show was broadcast on Fuji TV from April 5th to September 27th, 1973.

"Q" is definitely one of the strangest and most mysterious fighting game characters of all time. While clumsy, Q's robot-like fighting style is incredibly well animated... but definitely strange, too. Props to Capcom for creating such a compelling character. So what is the inspiration behind Q? I do have a theory... (and I was probably the first person on the internet to point this out in like 2001).

See the screenshot below and look in the background of Ken's classic SF2 stage.. On the far right side of the boat, there is a guy with his arm raised (cheering) who closely resembles Q. The people running from Q in his intro also appear to be dressed the same way as those on the boat. Furthermore, in Q's ending, he appears on a boat... proving the theory even further!!! :) Perhaps SF3's development team thought it would be clever to make a SF2 background character playable in SF3.

FUN FACT: TFG was the first place on the internet to point out this connection. I was even credited on Wikipedia for this! :]
