BIO:

Noob Saibot is a ninja of the shadows. He appeared in Mortal Kombat 2 as a hidden character. Noob's special abilities in MK2 were simply copied from Scorpion. To fight him, the player must win 50 rounds in a row. The name Noob Saibot spelled backwards is "Tobias Boon" (the last names of MK creators Ed Boon and John Tobias). Speculation arose that after Tobias left Midway in 2000, the "Saibot" portion of the name had to be removed for legal reasons, but this was untrue as Tobias did not own the rights to the name. In MK: Deception's Konquest mode and in MK: Armageddon, the name Noob-Smoke was split up, with "Saibot" omitted for continuity purposes.

Noob Saibot got his start as a pretty intriguing "mystery" character, and single-handedly added some creditable hype to MK2. However, in the first few games he really was nothing more than a "shadow clone" of Scorpion (among others)... even his official artworks were edits from Scorpion's up until the 3D MK games. lol.

Years later, his "Noob-Smoke" incarnation was kind of cool in MK: Deception, but that's a separate design (with a separate review). Finally, in 2011, the MK dev-team completely re-designed Noob Saibot in MK9, which is by far his coolest and most fleshed out appearance ever. Not only does he have a cool new costume, but his brand new moveset is simply badass. The Noob has certainly come a long way. Just a reminder, his "fighting style / moveset" rating is an average. I'd consider his MK9 moveset higher than a 3.5, but we have to consider all the games he appeared in, also. ;)
