Shao Kahn has many warriors under his command, but his trust lies solely in the fighters of his own creation. Warrior blood gathered from countless battlefields, fused with sorcery, produced his most effective enforcer yet: Skarlet. An expert tracker, she preys on those deemed enemies of the empire. During kombat, Skarlet gains strength from her opponent's blood, absorbing it through her skin. Shao Kahn has a new mission for this formidable kombatant: Discover Quan Chi's true intentions and kill him if he plots betrayal of the emperor.

FUN FACT: Skarlet was originally thought to be a secret character in Mortal Kombat 2, though this was later proven to be a coding glitch from Kitana, much like Ermac had been a color glitch from Scorpion.

Mortal Kombat 9

Mortal Kombat 11

Why am I not surprised they added yet another anorexic ninja-girl in a stripper outfit to the series in Mortal Kombat 9? Anyway, she's one... uhh... bloody girl. (Insert menstrual cycle joke here). Skarlet's moveset and general theme is somewhat interesting and unique, but in typical NRS fashion, her animations & moves are on the ugly / wonky side of things, IMO.

As the sole "new" character of MK9, she's not a total let down, but she definitely leaves much to be desired. On the flipside, it's pretty clever that the MK designers created this character from an old school MK2 glitch.

Skarlet's MK11 rendition seems completely different and much more fleshed out from her early "stripper ninja" debut... which is a good thing in this case. She put on some weight too, which is also a good thing.
