GENERAL/STORY:
He is an ambitious
leader to a trio of minions named Gosichi, Fuyo, and Ippachi. Wanting to become
the lord of Hinowa without much effort, he hires Genjuro
to dispatch Gaoh.
Upon Gaoh's defeat, he offers Genjuro another job which is promptly refused.
After Sankuro bribes with him information about his parents and membership to
his gang, Genjuro attempts to kill his employer. Sankuro is saved by his gang
and, apparently disinterested with killing women, Genjuro demands that he leave.
Sankuro, however, chooses to shoot Genjuro's back and brags about his new title.
Genjuro slashes him while he is distracted, leading to a hasty retreat.

REVIEW:
SNK used Genjuro's
sprite as a template to make Sankuro, so naturally my respect for the design goes down a few points...
It's definitely a cheap way to introduce a new character to the previously epic
Samurai Shodown series, especially one who offers a potentially cool fighting
style since he brings a unique weapon to the series.
Besides totally ripping off Genjuro's clothing attire (which is somewhat
understandable since it's a somewhat simple outfit), Sankuro's got one ugly mug. Seriously, someone
musta hit
him with an ugly stick.. err.. hammer. lol. His fighting style isn't bad and is
pretty funny at times, notably because he cowardly uses bombs & a gun in
battle. He also has 3 assist characters at his disposal that can come out for at
attack. The moves his "friends" can perform could have been better,
but they at least help the design to be mildly entertaining.
