GENERAL/STORY:
Once upon a time, Hyrule's tranquility was shattered by the arrival of several disasters. The calamities brought dark, ominous clouds that shut out the sun. Surprisingly, a lone magician was to blame for the disasters. About the time when people were losing all hope, the sun miraculously returned. Link, who was summoned by Zelda to find the cause of the disasters, succeeded in defeating the magician. The people of Hyrule rejoiced in the belief that eternal peace would rule. Unfortunately, this was not to be. It became clear that the magician responsible for the disasters was in fact controlled by the evil sword known as the Soul Edge, which existed in an another world. Furthermore, the fragments of the Soul Edge were gathering together in this other world. Knowing that the resurrection of the evil blade must be prevented at all costs, Link chose to travel to the other world and destroy the Soul Edge. Link gathered his trusted Master Sword, Hylian Shield, and ocarina and set off on a secret journey.

REVIEW:
I was as shocked as everyone else when I heard that everyone's favorite boy in tights was going to appear in the Gamecube version of Soul Calibur 2 as a special guest character... Who would have thought? Link carries around an unrivaled amount of nostalgia wherever he goes, and has always been a memorable and cool video game character.

To see Namco bring him into their hit weapon-based fighting game series, and have him drawn & animated their way, was a real treat. Namco really did an amazing job at capturing a lot of his famous movements, and bringing them up to speed for Soul Calibur 2 (his first real fighting game appearance)... No I don't consider Super Smash Brothers a real fighting game.
