A former Seidan Guardsman who became disillusioned with the oppressive nature of Seido, the Realm of Order, Darrius leads a resistance movement which seeks to overthrow Orderrealm's senate. He takes advantage of the strict laws of Orderrealm to manipulate individuals into joining his movement. One tactic is to have a Guardsman's family murdered, who will then retaliate and be expelled from the Guard. They are then ripe for induction into the swelling ranks. Others joined him of their own volition, such as the cleric of Chaos, Havik.

During Deception, he hires fellow former guardsman Dairou to steal the Seidan government's Declaration of Order, a scroll depicting its laws. It is also speculated that Darrius hired Dairou to kill Hotaru. Though not explicitly stated, the similarities between Dairou's background and Darrius's method of recruitment seems to imply that he was the one to order the killing of Dairou's family.

Mortal Kombat: Armageddon

Page Updated: July 7th, 2013

Midway development team's design strategy for Darrius: "Take Morpheus from the Matrix, slap on a MK-ish/ninja-ish outfit, throw in 30 or so random moves (and borrow some animations from other characters), stick some cool looking blades on his arms aaaaand... a new Mortal Kombat character!" Psssh. At first glance he's not a terrible MK design, but after using him in the game, it's pretty obvious they came up with this design in about 5 minutes. His fighting style isn't well defined and seems "thrown together" like most of the new designs from the infamous 3D era of MK.

To his credit, he's a little better than some of the other moronic designs from Deception and Armageddon... but compared to other "new" fighting game characters of the era, Darrius is just a lame design.
