GENERAL/STORY:
Ben
Ferris was yet another victim of Ultratech's cruel games. He had
been serving a lengthy jail sentence for numerous counts of robbery, assault,
and he was a prime suspect in a string of murders that had occurred before
he was jailed. Because of this, he was eligible for transfer to Utlratech.
In order to help out with overcrowding prisons, Ultratech had made an offer
to the government; give them a handful of prisoners every month, and for
a small handling fee,, the government wouldn't ask what they were doing
with the convicts. President Sheridan managed to determine who exactly
in Congress was corrupt enough to agree to such a bargain, and the deal
was struck. Ben Ferris was one of the few inmates who actually got a choice
as to whether or not he would let Ultratech experiment on him. He
initially resisted, but Sheridan filled his head with dreams of power.
The corporate president promised Ben that he would be a super human, superior
to everyone else. Ben finally agreed, and even became excited by
the prospect. However, during the experiments, a horrible accident occurred.
Many scientists were killed, including Dr. Scott Fulgore, a department
chair for Ultratech's engineering department. Ben survived; however,
his body had been mutated by the accident. He was no longer human.
In fact, he was far from it - he was now mostly composed of fire, and magma.
Ben was horrified at first, but then he realized that his new form gave
him great powers. Sheridan asked him to undergo a combat test in
the form of the Killer Instinct tournament, and he agreed. Sheridan
would arrange it so that Ben, now renamed Cinder, would fight an being
who was the exact opposite that he was in a test of extremes. The
ice alien Glacius. Cinder gave a decent performance
during the first round of the tournament, but the competition was especially
hard in this, the 7th Killer Instinct tournament, and Cinder hadn't quite
gotten the hang of his powers by the time he reached Glacius. As
a result, he was badly beaten. He nearly died, but barely managed
to save himself. While struggling for life, the Killer Instinct tournament
ended, and Ultratech went to, and came back from, 2000 years in the past.
Ignorant of this, an enraged Cinder makes his way back towards Ultratech
with the hopes of getting some revenge against President Sheridan.

REVIEW:
A
man made of fire... Original? No, but even though he could really be written
off as a human torch clone, Cinder actually had some cool moves and even
a little personality for his day. His voice in particular was memorable...
Even though I can't understand a thing he says. lol.
