Actor who Voiced Cyclops in X-Men: The Animated Series & the Marvel Vs. Games Has Passed Away

Following the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), who passed away last Friday after a 4-year battle with Colon Cancer, we lost another Marvel legend this week. Canadian actor, Norm Spencer, known for voicing Cyclops in X-Men: The Animated Series and all of the Marvel Versus Series games, has passed away. We learned of his passing after Cathal J. Dodd (the voice of Wolverine) posted a tribute to the actor on social media, referencing an unforgettable episode from X-Men: The Animated Series:

Norm Spencer brought Cyclops to life in 68 episodes of the X-Men cartoon series, from 1992 to 1997. Norm's iconic Cyclops also appeared in several episodes of Spider-Man: The Animated Series.

The next time you hear "OPTIC BLAST!"... "GENE SPLICE!"... or "Previously on X-Men," don't forget to remember the amazing actor who brought Cyclops to life for all these memorable years. Rest in power, Norm!

All 5 seasons of X-Men: The Animated Series are streaming on Disney+.
