EVO Moment #37 Recreated as Justin Wong's Chun-Li Gets Parried by Ken Player Online

EVO Moment #37 is undoubtedly one of the most famous moments in competitive fighting game history. At EVO 2004, Daigo "The Beast" Umehara parried all 15 hits of Justin Wong's Chun-Li during her Lightning Kicks Super Art in Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike to win the set. Earlier this week on Tuesday, the iconic "Daigo parry" sequence was recreated for FGC legend and multi-time Street Fighter world champion, Justin Wong, while he was playing a match of SFIII: 3rd Strike online against a random Ken Masters player (named "capge"). Entertaining his audience on Twitch, Justin Wong taunted the Ken player by saying "You ain't Daigo" as he initiated Chun-Li's Super Art... and well, just watch the outcome.

In case you were wondering, after "taking the L" in the first round... Justin Wong came back in the next two rounds to win the match. It goes to show that when the netcode is solid (and when you spend many hours practicing parries), truly awesome things are possible while playing fighting games online. Incredibly, Justin Wong's video has already been viewed over 1 million times on Twitter.

FUN FACT
:
EVO Moment #37 is featured in Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition as a Special Trial where players can attempt to recreate the incredibly-difficult Daigo parry under the same circumstances that occurred during EVO 2004.
