Mr. Sakurai Presents Kazuya in Smash Ultimate

This morning, Nintendo's Masahiro Sakurai gave the full presentation of Kazuya Mishima's moveset and TEKKEN-inspired playstyle in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Impressively, Kazuya features actual TEKKEN commands and Motion Inputs from his original series. Directional attacks, wave dashing, EWGFs, Rage Mode, and a large number of command throws are just a few unique mechanics Kazuya brings to Smash. For example, Kazuya has his "while rising" Demon God Fist performed while standing up from a crouch. This is a uniquely-TEKKEN-style input, leads to high-damage combos, and is performed the same way in Smash Ultimate. Kazuya's transformation into Devil-form adds more tech to his arsenal, including lasers and high jumping. The developers really went all out "retooling" many of Kazuya's iconic attacks and did an incredible job, really. Sakurai noted that Kazuya has one of the largest variety of moves of the 85 characters in the game an homage to his original series! Enjoy the full presentation video below. (Starts at 29:35)

In addition to the incredibly in-depth Kazuya moveset, mechanics, and combos presentation (it's legitimately a tutorial), Mr. Sakurai also previews the awesome-looking Mishima Dojo stage coming to Ultimate alongside Kazuya, which features multiple breakable walls and more than one Heihachi Mishima-themed cameo! Scroll further down for more screens.

Like other characters in the game, Kazuya Mishima's inclusion in Smash Ultimate brings a ton of fan service... especially for TEKKEN fans in this case. The Mishima Dojo stage and 39 music tracks from the TEKKEN series will join Kazuya Mishima when he becomes available tomorrow,
June 29th. Below is the full tracklist of TEKKEN music that will be featured in Smash Ultimate, including 8 brand new remixes!

Beginning June 29th, Kazuya can be individually purchased in Smash Ultimate for $5.99 or as part of the Fighters Pass Vol. 2 ($29.99). Following Kazuya, one more DLC character will be released for the game as part of Fighters Pass 2. Sakurai said "the next DLC fighter will be the last one," for Smash Ultimate. "It'll be a while before that announcement, but it'll be available this year as planned, so please be patient," said Sakurai.

Last but not least, enjoy some screenshots of Kirby as a Mishima and a variety of new HD Kazuya Mishima official screens from Nintendo. Also check out Kazuya's full movelist from Smash Bros. Ultimate.

In related news, Dante was announced as a new DLC Mii Fighter Costume coming to the game alongside the Kazuya update. In case you didn't know... DMC fans have been hoping and praying for years that Dante eventually joins Smash Ultimate (as the game's 27th or 28th sword user), but for now, it seems they'll have to settle for this groovy Mii Fighter costume.
