TFG Feedback & PS Home Cosplays. . .

Hey there,

I love your site as much as I love fighting games. I'm a pretty big SNK
and Capcom fan (although I seem to prefer SNK more) and have a somewhat
large collection of their games. I'm no expert at these games, but I
still enjoy them whether I win or lose.

I've also made a few cosplays in PS Home and want to know what you think
of them. They're not perfect, but it's the least I can do with the
amount of options in Home.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to next year's fighting games as well as
your reviews of them. Keep up the good work on TFG!

-Miguel G. (Texas)

Frank replies: I wouldn't call myself an expert in any SNK fighting game either (*cough* besides Samurai Shodown 2 *cough*) but I'm also a big fan of their game library. ;) Cool Playstation home cosplays you got there... I can identify them all: K', Terry Bogard (Garou version), Ragna, Hazama, Ralf Jones & Axl Low! Nice job... Heh, PS Home should really consider some more "anime hairstyles". Thanks for sharing and thanks for enjoying TFG!

Mortal Kombat / Killer Instinct Crossover?

I've heard rumors of Killer Instinct characters being considered for guests in the XBOX 360 version of the newest Mortal Kombat game.  Do you think Killer Instinct characters could have a new home in the Mortal Kombat series and fit in well with the MK characters while retaining aspects of their old Killer Instinct appearances or are the two games just too completely different even if the Killer Instinct characters were completely re-imagined as Mortal Kombat characters?  Which Killer Instinct characters would you most like to see?

-Martyn de Weert (England)

Frank replies: I've always thought Killer Instinct & Mortal Kombat would make a perfect crossover. MK9 would get crazy-hyped if the news broke that there were going to be "KI" guest characters... but the question is, which characters would make the cut? It's so hard to pick even 2 or 3 characters. If I had to pick though... it'd be Chief Thunder, Sabrewulf, and Orchid. ;)

Greetings Yagami-san. . .

In order to show my gratitude towards your work on TFG I've made small signature... A humble present, but from heart :D

Anywayz, I've been having a blast with Capcom vs SNK 2 (10x for the advice you gave me at your YouTube page) and still trying to master it... With so many good games to be released, TTT2(OMG that just blew my mind...), MvC3:FTW, KoF13... It only shows that fighting games won't disappear anytime soon and more will come (not to mention SF x Tekken...now that's HUGE!)

And as always I'm counting on TFG to show, inform and review these games, cuz honestly man...the mainstream reviews suck ball$, that's why most of the time I make reference to your website as an honest resource for reviews of fighting games. I just hate when n00bs are reviewing a game... 'Till next time,

Cheers Yagami! :)

Frank replies: Anytime man, glad you're enjoying CVS2! Yeah, I'm also tired of crappy mainstream reviews, which is why I decided to beef up TFG's reviews this year. Seems like some reviewers play the game for one night and complete their review the next day... and that just doesn't cut it when you're reviewing a fighting game, it honestly makes me sick. Anyhow, I try my best to give honest and "complete" reviews the best I can, glad you've enjoyed them. And thanks a ton for the references, I appreciate it!

Thanks for the TFG banner gift... it'll look sharp on the site for sure! :)

TFG Reviews. . .

Hey Frank,

Great job on the site, I've been keeping up with all the updates and I recently read through many of your game reviews. Noticed that you updated quite a few! I know some people call you "biased" but you know what....? You're allowed to be because you make good points and you are funny as hell sometimes! ;) From one writer to another, just wanted to say keep doing what you're doing. And thanks for the awesome site!

-Bryan L. (Anaheim, CA)

Frank replies: "If a man isn't willing to take some risk for his opinions, either his opinions are no good, or he is no good." Thanks for noticing... earlier in the year, I started updating ALL of the game profiles with new artwork, screenshots, videos, and I touched up quite a few of my reviews. I could tell I previously "rushed through" a few of them when I was re-reading them, but with this last update I've put a lot more time into ALL of my game reviews. I don't want TFG to be just "a website for pictures" anymore... ;) Thanks a lot man, I appreciate it.

Questions for You. . .

Hey Frankie.  Is that your real name?  Well a buddy of mine said he saw you online a few months ago on playstation home.  He said you were in the Tekken lounge.  Is that true?

I was wondering what is your ethnic background.  I don't want to assume and say anything, that's why I am asking.  Just curious because you look quite different than most people around where I live.

-Dan. T

Frank replies: Yes, that's the name I was born with. Wowwww... I actually was on PS Home a couple months ago for the first time in a long while... and yeah I did hit up the new Tekken lounge. So you're friend actually recognized me on there (the only time I logged into PS Home in months)? This is a first. lol.

To answer your question on my ethnicity... I'm Italian, German and Japanese. :)

Dragonball Fighting Games. . .

I am a huge fighting fan and just wanted to know if you plan on adding any of the numerous Dragonball, Dragonball Z, and Dragonball GT games to your site in the near future? These games have a huge following and it would be great for you to archive them like you have done with all of the other fighting series.  keep up the good work!

Frank replies: I get this question a few times a year... and the answer is still no (unfortunately for you Dragonball Z fans). The reason they're not on the site is simply because "Dragonball Z" is so wildly popular and I'm sure there are a ton of dedicated fan sites for Dragonball out there. That said, TFG will always be fully dedicated to the ORIGINAL fighting game characters & games. I just feel that having the likes of Goku, Vegeta and Piccolo on the site (as cool as they are) would "disrespect" the Ryu's, Terry Bogard's and Liu Kang's. DBZ characters/games do have a large following but just aren't "pure" enough to be featured on this site... it's the same case with Naruto and other "mainstream" anime games in case you were wondering.

Wanted to Say Thank You

Your website is one of the most comprehensive sites I've found. The Hong Kong vids were great enjoyed them alot. I play a lot of SSF4 on PSN. My handle is Tiengouki - main ken, and dan send me an invite sometime.

Frank replies: Thanks a lot my friend, I appreciate it. I don't play much SSF4 but my PSN is "FYagami" if you ever want to challenge me. Merry Christmas!

A Simple Request. . .

First of all I just wanted to say that I've been a fan of you're site since back in 2005, mostly lurking and reading all of your in-depth reviews of not only the characters but the fighting games they have appeared in.  In time, I've also noticed you've been doing more obscure fighting games such as Battle Arena Toshinden, which I loved your reviews on.  I'm a big fighting game fan myself, from Street Fighter, to Virtua Fighter, to Tekken, and so on.  But there's one fighting game that I have played a long time ago on the Sega Saturn that I noticed you haven't added yet.  Maybe you haven't heard about it, and if you haven't then you should check it out and give you're own review on it.  It's called "Dark Legend" (Suikoenbu in Japan), and was made by Data East.  Can't wait to see what you have to say about it if you do give it a shot :)

-Chris Garcia

Frank replies: I've never played Dark Legend, but I have heard the name a few times... I looked it up on Youtube for a refresher course. ;) it seems to be slightly inspired by the likes of Samurai Shodown, among other classic 2D fighters. I'll consider adding it to the site eventually. ;) Thanks for supporting TFG! :)
