I've been a huge fan of your
site for a long time, and must say its the best fighting resource
out there. You do incredible work to say the least.
Recently I (and my business partner) opened the first Galloping
Ghost Arcade! Its an classic arcade and being a huge fighting
game fan myself, I've packed it with all the best fighting games and
will be adding plenty more. If you are ever in the Chicago
area, I would like to personally extend and invitation to you, to
come check it out. You can please check out the game we have. http://www.gallopingghostarcade.com/games_list.htm
We had 2 of the actors from
Mortal Kombat out for our opening (and will be having more out
soon).... I've got footage of Daniel Pesina (Johnny Cage,
Scorpion, SubZero, Reptile) vs Phillip Ahn (Shang Tsung) fighting
each other in MKII, if you are interested in it for your site as
well.
Anyways, I just wanted to
introduce myself and touch base, and thank you for such a great
website.
Thanks,
-Doc Mack (Chicago)

Frank replies: Hey Doc. First off,
I appreciate your kind words for TFG... glad you're enjoying the site! Second, your arcade
looks amazing. That's an awesome line-up of classic fighting games to say
the very least. If I'm ever in the Chicago area I will indeed be stopping by the Galloping Ghost,
and thanks for the invitation. I wish you guys the best of luck! And good luck with your game
as well, it looks to give MK:HD a run for
it's money. ;D

Fastg35's Fighting Game Characters in Mod Nation Form: 2nd Impact!
Hello it's me
again, I know you loved my first batch of characters and
I decided to show you the second. the wait might have been long but
well worth it! Though some might be a bit outdated its the details
that make up for it. I got characters from Street Fighter, The King of
Fighters, and my newest project, Tekken.
I gotta say all those mods took a lot of time, especially the
Tekken ones,
but was worth it in the end. so please, enjoy my creations.
and
Mr. FYagami if you want 2 request a Tekken character feel free to
do so.
I'll do the best i can to make it happen. Thanks for reading
this and enjoy!
P.S. I'm rooting for Team Street Fighter.

Frank replies:Wow (again)... you've been busy I see! Geez man, your customs are so
damn accurate... it's crazy!
My personal favorites: Kyo (you nailed the hair), Sagat (Badass scars),
Dan (love the facial expression), K' (just too cool), Dhalsim (too
accurate!), Kazuya (eyebrows!!!). XD
You've paid a great homage to fighting games in ModNation Racers. Thanks
for sharing once again! Requests? I'd like to see Heihachi, Ogre, and
Lars!

Mudman Artwork. . .
Hey Frank. Loooong
time fan here. (Oh, and thanks for putting up the T. Hawk petition way
back before SSF4 came out)
As always, I've been using your gallery as reference for the fanart I
make. Well, I wanted to do one of Mudman (you know the guy) with his
mask off, but there's no clear shot of his face, other than the one
with him and Cyber Woo.
In the game itself, the picture shown after he wins a match shows his
face in full. Do you know where I could find that image? I can't seem
to locate it online.
Thanks, and keep up the excellent work!
-Russel H.
Frank replies:I know just the one you're talking about, and unfortunately I haven't
come across it online either... or any of the win pose artworks from NGBC
for that matter. The closest thing I have is this
group picture... check out the bottom right panel for a shot of Mudman
with his mask off... hope it helps with your fanart!

Blazblue: Continuum Shift Review
Hey Frank,
I just had a couple
quick comments on your BlazBlue Continuum Shift review. First, your
comment on "The console version also includes
downloadable/purchasable characters Makoto-Nanaya & μ-12
(which possibly may leave a few people feeling ripped off)" makes
it seem that μ-12 is purchase/download only. While
that is the case for Makoto, it's not the case for μ-12;
she's unlockable in the default game normally by unlocking
and completing the "True End" section of the story mode.
The thing that's in the PS Store/Xbox Marketplace is just for people
who don't want to bother doing that. Just thought it'd be good to
clarify that.
Then I was
wondering something about the section on story mode. You mentioned
that your "mind started to drift after the 117th time I pushed
the X button to continue the waves and waves of character
dialogue." Just wondering if you knew that you could set the
text/dialogue to auto-scroll by hitting triangle (on PS3) or Y (on
360)? That was a godsend for completing the whole story mode.
Other than
that, yet another well written review. I know you're not as into the
game as you are into say Tekken, but if you ever want to
play a few matches on BBCS, feel free to hit me up on PSN (jt4mtb).
To finish this,
what would you say are your top 5 favorite fighting games at this
point in time?
-Joe Tran
P.S. Random
note: on the character page for Makoto Nanaya you mentioned the
debate on whether she's a squirrel or chipmunk. Technically,
chipmunks are squirrels (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chipmunk)
:P
Frank replies:Hey Joe,
Thanks for taking the time to comment on my review... I went ahead and
clarified that μ-12 is also unlockable in the first part of the
review, and I forgot there was an auto-scroll feature in story mode;
thanks for reminding me!
Wow, I didn't know that chipmunks are actually squirrels... I guess
you really do learn something new every day. XD
Top 5 fighting games at this point in time?
1. Tekken 6
2. Marvel VS Capcom 2
3. Street Fighter III: Third Strike/Second Impact
4. Super Street Fighter IV
5. Samurai Shodown 2 and/or 4.
Hmm... I kinda feel bad not mentioning any Soul Calibur. I haven't played
it in a while though. :/ For the record, #6 would be Soul Calibur 4. Thanks again!

Team Street Fighter or Team Tekken?
STREET FIGHTER X
TEKKEN & TEKKEN X STREET FIGHTER!?!?!?!
OMG, I'm just flipping out in excitement over here right now! I'm a
little late to the party, but I was ecstatic to see the videos,
images, and hear the announcement of both games. Since Capcom is using
the Street Fighter IV engine for Street Fighter X Tekken, I'm very
excited to see more images and videos, since Tekken hasn't really be
in the the realm of 2D. From the YouTube video I saw, Street Fighter X
Tekken looks very epic so far!
However, I'm more excited to see videos and images of Tekken X Street
Fighter. If I'm not mistaken, Namco is developing this game right.?
So, I'm guessing it's going to be based on the Tekken 6 engine. Street
Fighter just got 3D right (but it's still 2D nonetheless at it's
core), so it's going to be interesting to see how Namco transitions
Street Fighter into full 3D. But that also worries me. Tekken is a
very realistic looking series and it's going to be weird to see Street
Fighter characters in the world of a realistic looking Tekken. But, I
have full faith in Namco and I'm very excited for Tekken X Street
Fighter the most. Especially since Namco will probably let us
customize the Street Fighter characters, so I'm excited to see what
items they come up with.
So Frank, which one are you looking forward to MORE!? CHOOSE
ONE!!!
Are you #TeamStreetFighter or #TeamTekken? Would love to see your
response. :)
I'm #TeamTekken BTW. I'm deadly with the beautiful Christie Monteiro. PSN:
JyakotuKurayami
-Darryl Vaughn (Charlotte, North
Carolina)
Frank replies:
I too have done my fair share of flipping out over this...
At this point, I'm equally excited to see how Tekken characters will
translate to SF4 style and how Street Fighter characters will translate
into the more-realistic Tekken style. I think it's going to be quite a
while before we see any sort of footage from the Tekken project, but I
know it'll be worth the wait. Customizing SF characters will definitely be
fun... ;)
And to answer your question..... Team Tekken. ;)
