Kyoshiro Senryo

Kyoshiro is an extremely famous Kabuki star in Edo. To pass his fathers skills in kabuki, he started to learn both kabuki dancing and using the naginata. Due to his natural talent in fighting, his skills increased at a great speed. To show off his talent, he and his kabuki party travel around Japan. During his travels, he witnesses Zankuro's murdering people. Seeing this as a good chance to surpass his father, he goes off in search of Zankuro. A year later, he was attacked by demons and nearly lost his life and soul to Mizuki. But he was saved by Amakusa. To not get attacked once again, he goes off to kill the source of the demons, Mizuki.

Kyoshiro started out as somewhat of a "filler" character in the series, but he definitely fit in with the roster of Samurai Shodown. As a kabuki actor with a badass naginata, he also offered something to unique to the series and the fighting genre. If anything, Kyoshiro was lacking a certain "coolness" that other Samurai Shodown characters had... but SNK had a plan. ;)

Later in Samurai Shodown 3, SNK re-designed Kyoshiro and made him a hell of a lot cooler. He still retained all of the memorable features about his design, but also received some pretty cool new moves in the later games. Also worth mentioning, his voice is also quite epic in the later of the series... he's got some hilarious taunts.
