Yosh! TFG Webmaster Frank Yagami
here; I'd
like you to meet TFG's Featured Artist, and an old friend of mine...

William
Fong (aka Jet3000).
Jet and I originally met at a local arcade around
the year 2000 when Marvel VS Capcom 2 first hit the arcade scene. Ahh the
memories... We were undisputedly the top 2 players at our arcade, constantly breaking
each other's ridiculous win streaks (many times upwards of 20 or 30) and
sending each other back to the token machine with a smile as the crowd
awed. We soon became friends and over time, learned that we share nearly
identical passions
in life: a common love for martial arts, drawing, fighting games, girls,
specific rock music, and even fighting game artwork (specifically SNK and Capcom)... Go
figure!!!

Nunchaku skills... For real. Taught him everything
he knows. Heh. |

Long
story short, after countless epic matches (namely in MvC2, SFIII, Tekken
Tag, Tekken 5, and Soul Calibur 2), unforgettable good times, and
hundreds of drawing sessions later; Jet and I are no less than best friends
for life... In fact, I consider him to be my older brother.

Over the years,
Jet has taught me a lot about life, as well as a lot about drawing! Alas,
I'm honored to feature some of his amazing, original artwork on TFG. He
has a truly natural talent, and everything he draws is completely
from scratch... No tracing or copying whatsoever. I hope you enjoy his
unique art style as much as I have over the years... Keep in mind the majority
of the following is his "old stuff."

In April 2009,
Jet
was asked to do the prologue and epilogue artwork for Tony V's short film, The
Shadow's Ambition... This artwork was done solely on the computer with a pen
tablet and mouse, a new medium for Jet, but his style definitely shows through!
Ohh and by the way, he whipped these up in about 2 days flat.

Jet
has also drawn yours truly a handful of times... And he does capture my
"aura" if I do say so myself. He also drew me as several fighting game characters that I commonly use.

In
July 2007, Jet won 2nd place in G4's "create-a-video" Transformers
Videobot contest. He drew all of the artwork in the video himself and also did ALL of the voiceovers as well! The
video below was taken live on AOTS when they announced the winners... It
doesn't show Jet's whole video, but the following is what was aired on G4!

Now
for some of Jet's comedy... Jet's a funny guy. The first series is properly entitled "Akuma in the morning"...
Self explanatory and simply brilliant if you ask me.
He actually made Akuma look
cute... lol. |
So
much effort put into that yawn. |
So
that's how he does it... |
Such
a sketchy face, but so accurate! |
Next up... "The Shadowlootron." Yes, Shadowloo pretty much meets Transformers
in this one. I swear, only Jet could think something like this up. Never
can I look at the following series of pictures and not laugh my ass off.
"Bison
yells "MERGE!!!" |
Jet says Vega
really hates this part... |
The Shadowlootron
gets Vega's claw as a weapon. |
"Vehicle
mode"... Vega is the grill, and somehow, Sagat and Balrog = wheels? What!? XD |
Last
but not least is a hilarious Dan comic that Jet created around 2003-2004 (while
at work).
