(3-27-08) Van Damme on the new SF movie??? According to this
interview, Jean-Claude Van Damme was asked to play the role of Guile
in the upcoming live action Street Fighter movie, but he turned it down because
he's wanting to pick his roles more carefully and do films he'd rather be proud
of than box offlice flops like the original SF Film.
. Wait a second, wait
a second... Okay, let me let this sink in... *sigh* They actually asked him
to play the role of Guile for the new SF movie??? Really?!?!? Am
I reading this correctly? *whew* At least he turned it down. I guess he realized
how much he really sucked as Guile in the first movie. But wow, I really
can't believe the new director actually asked Van Damme to play Guile after the
failure that was the first live action SF film... Come on guys. Guile should
be able to speak English correctly, right?! Unbelievable!!!. I can
believable...

5: DR Online update!? The Japanese version of Tekken
5: Dark Resurrection Online is receiving a downloadable update on March
18th. The free update includes Dual Shock 3 controller support and a few new
online options/tweaks! A quick 1 on 1 battle is now selectable through the
"Pickup Match" option, and battle lobbies will now show room names
instead of player host names only... No official word on when the US version is
receiving this update.

Comingsoon.net have announced that Michael Clarke Duncan will be playing
the role of original boxer of fighting games, Balrog.
Furthermore, Rick Yune has been confirmed for "You a big fool!" Gen,
and Chris Klein from the American Pie movies will be playing Charlie
Nash.

(2-13-08) Tekken Movie update! Luke Goss has signed on to
play the part of Steve Fox in the upcoming live action Tekken film. Goss has
appeared in Blade II, Charlie, and is set to appear in Hellboy
II as well. No news yet on any kind of release date for the movie...
Wow, great casting...
He's even got the same exact "mad face" creases between the eyebrows! All he needs
now is some hair.

(2-8-08) Soul Calibur movie script! Your faithful webmaster
was privileged to read the first 10 pages of the SC movie script (rough draft)
straight from 2nd degree media... While I'm not permitted to post the
script itself, I can tell you that there was a shark, nocturnal creatures
falling dead from the sky, Sophitia killing someone, a look into the childhood,
growth, and resurrection of Cervantes; and Siegfried & Raphael are
apparently cousins... Yes, cousins. That's all I can say for now, besides the
fact that after reading the script, it kept me wanting more. When I first heard
about a SC live action movie, of course I had my doubts, as many of you did; but
honestly the script so far hasn't disappointed me! The film appears to be off to
a good start, and my
sources have told me I'll be able to read more soon!

The long awaited "International version" of
Tekken
6 has just come out in Korea and Hong Kong, which should mean a widespread US
arcade release isn't far behind! The latest patch (A69) is an update to Japan's
current version which includes CHARACTER BALANCE UPDATES and the bonus stage
boss "Nancy" (see below). The Japanese version of course will receive
it's very own A69 update soon enough via TekkenNET.

(1-16-08) Soul Calibur Movie update!!! Once again, I received some underground information about
the upcoming film along with another "teaser" pic to show off on TFG. The story will
follow Ivy, searching for an "ancient relic" that her father had been
searching for when he died (the SoulEdge), and her discovering what it is, while
putting herself in the middle of something bigger than she ever intended to. That's
all the story details I have for now... Even though the film is supposed to be live action, my sources
have also sent me a "conceptualized" rendered image of Siegfried for
the film! ...Check it out while it's hot, and remember you saw it first at TFG.
