Blazblue: Calamity Trigger Released!!!
The PS3 & 360 versions of Arc System Works' gorgeous 2D fighter has arrived in stores today (for those who pre-ordered)... Expect TFG's full review very soon! Ohh, and here's a special launch trailer to get you hyped... CLICK HERE!

The Akuma Statue.
God of War III character artist Katon Callaway, in collaboration with SOTA toys, is putting the finishing touches on this new (and unquestionably badass) Akuma statue. It stands 12 inches tall and is on track for a September release with a $120+ price tag... SOTA also confirmed they will be releasing Cammy, Bison & Guile statues in the future.

New KOF XII Sprite Animations!
If you haven't checked the KOF XII 2D Dot Graphics Gallery in a while, SNK Playmore JP has added several new character sprites. The gallery now includes King of Fighters XII animations for Iori Yagami, Kensou, Athena, Raiden, Benimaru, Kim, Ralf, and Terry! Check out THIS LINK to see the awesome new 2D sprites... Sometimes it takes a while to load so be patient. Each character has a stance animation and two attacks. . Hit "play" once you select the character sprite to see the animation!

Dream Factory Developing New Toshinden!
Remember that new Toshinden game for the Wii announced last year? There still aren't any real details, but the latest info on the game is that Dream Factory will be developing it! In the fighting genre, Dream Factory is best known for their work on Tobal No.1, Tobal No.2, and Ehrgeiz... Let's hope for the best.

Warner Bros. Buys Midway By Default...
"No other bids came in, so there's not going to be an auction," confirmed Midway's spokesman, Geoff Mogilner. Warner's $33 million bid has net Midway's Chicago development studios (Mortal Kombat & Stranglehold), which means a sequel to MK vs DC has become a good possibility.

Cardboard Tube Samurai in Tekken 6!
Maybe you saw this image last week on Tekkenbob's Twitter, but now it's confirmed that there will be a Cardboard Tube Samurai costume in Tekken 6 (for Yoshimitsu), along with a variety of nobori (Japanese war flags) as universal customization items. These special items are part of the "Samurai Pack" which will come as exclusive DLC with a preorder of Tekken 6 from Gamestop!

Cardboard Tube Samurai first appeared in Penny Arcade, later appearing in his own short series of comics and even in other comics and video games like Legacy of Kain: Defiance and Penny Arcade Adventures: Episode II.

MvC2 For PSN & XBLA Delayed...
"No official release date for MVC2 as of yet. Digital release dates can be tricky. Do not expect before end of July, tho." Says Capcom's official Twitter... Looks like we'll be waiting at least another month before playing some MVC2 online.

Home Exclusive Tekken 6 Costumes!
CLAMP, the well known all female manga group, is designing original character costumes to be included in the home version of Tekken 6! Some sources are saying that these costumes will be "PS3 exclusive" (similar to how Tekken 5 on the PS2 had exclusive costumes by various artists). The first exclusive outfit for Jin Kazama has been revealed in this week's Famitsu (below).

Tekken 6 Collector's Edition!
The rumors are true... Select Gamestop stores are taking pre-orders for a Tekken 6 bundle which includes the game + a "wireless" Fightstick. The fightstick/game bundle retails for $149, with a $25 minimum reserve payment... I know this because I just got mine (PS3 version). This bundle likely won't be advertised, so ask your local stores if they're taking pre-orders!

Tekken 6 website update!
Over at the Official Tekken 6 website, Namco Bandai has put up some interesting new content... Check out a cool Paul VS Kazuya demonstration for starters (with more demos coming soon)! Namco also revealed that there will be even more graphic enhancements/options in the console versions; including improved atmosphere lighting, glare effect, and a depth of field effect options! A handful of new screenshots were added as well, showing some of Tekken 6's character customization possibilities! Also included are several pre-order links, and according to Gamestop & Amazon, the game will ship on October 27th, 2009... Check out Tekken.com!

E3 09: US TvC Details!!
Capcom has confirmed that the US version of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom will have an online mode via the Wii's WiFi. The online features will include Friend battles, Rival battles, Free battles, and Ranked battles. Capcom also revealed that Hakushon Daimao will be cut from the roster due to licensing issues, however, in his place, five new characters will be added! The new version will also feature new mini games as well as an "enhanced" story mode!

KOF XII Sprite Animations!!!
The first 2D sprite animations & backgrounds from KOF XII have arrived at the KOF XII 2D Dot Graphics Gallery, made by SNK Playmore JP themselves... Check out THIS LINK to see the awesome new character sprites! Let it load, then click on the tabs at the top-right that say "new!" to view the sprites, and hit "play" to see them animate. So far they have Kyo, Ash, Joe, Elizabeth and Mature; with three animations each... Hopefully we'll see more soon!

Namco Bandai's Plans For E3!
Namco Bandai Games America will be showing off their latest fighting games at this year's E3, (which takes place at the Los Angeles Convention Center, June 2-4, 2009). Firstly, there will be a two-day Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion tournament at Namco Bandai's booth running on June 3 & June 4... Attendees will also have a chance to play "an exciting new game mode" for the 360 and PS3 versions of Tekken 6. Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny will also be shown at the show, hinted to be in the form of a playable demo!

Tatsunoko VS Capcom coming to US!!!
"They said it couldn't happen, but it is! Fighting extravaganza Tatsunoko VS Capcom is coming to North America." states an article by Nintendo Power magazine... And if there's any doubt, the awesome new Shinkiro artwork & screenshots with English text confirms it! Under the new title Tatsunoko VS Capcom: Ultimate All Stars, the North American (Wii) version will also contain additional characters, add online VS mode, and will be released Winter of 2009!!!

Two KOF XII Fight Sticks Coming!!
Exar is releasing a six-button fight stick (featuring official KOF XII artwork) as well as an old school four-button NEOGEO style stick!! The six-button stick (based on the Tatsunoko VS Capcom stick released last Dec.) will retail for around $65, while the "NEOGEO Stick 2" runs about $55... These "Japan only" PS3 sticks, will be released in July to coincide with the console release of KOF XII... No word on Xbox 360 versions of these sticks.

Blazblue Fight Sticks!
Hori's limited (very limited) edition PS3 and 360 fight sticks will be shipping from several Japanese vendors on June 25th to coincide with Blazblue's console release on June 30th... Shortages for these sticks have been confirmed (80% shortage ratio), so you'll be very lucky to get one at launch even with a pre-order. By the way, did you know there's a link to TFG on Blazblue.com?

Blazblue Special Edition!
Aksys Games has revealed the limited collector's edition of Blazblue: Calamity Trigger, still set for a June 30th release! Both the PS3 & 360 limited edition versions will come in a collector's box, which packs a 42-song soundtrack that spans two discs, as well as a bonus DVD (Blu-Ray for the PS3 version) featuring tutorials and detailed character walkthroughs from expert players!

The best news is, the limited edition is actually the same price as the game alone ($59.99) and players who've already pre-ordered the game are getting a free upgrade to the limited version!

MvC2 Exclusive PSN Demo!
Drops today! The multi-player only demo features 6 characters: Ryu, Chun Li, Strider Hiryu, Wolverine, Iron Man, & Spider Man. While there isn't much to do in the demo, you can at least check out the various graphic options & screen settings and even set your own music to play in the background... Time to create a badass MVC2 playlist!

The background resolution is definitely the highest it's ever been, and the "smooth" and "sharp" filters are nice!!! Gripes? The character selection screen sprites look kinda funky, and a few selection screen textures are kinda low quality... Hope they fix that! Overall, the game never looked better running on an HDTV!

4Gamer has released the first ever screenshots of The King of Fighters Online which is an RPG being developed by DragonFly, slated for release in 2010! More details as they arise!

Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny!
First Tekken 6, and now a PSP "enhancement" of Soul Calibur IV has been announced... Namco wants your PSP to feel loved again. Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny will be a PSP exclusive and will be based off of SC IV but will add some worthy new content! The game will feature over 20 playable characters, tweaked gameplay, and bring along several new characters to the series... Dampierre being the first new face revealed.

Other features include an expanded character customization mode, Arcade, Versus, & Survival modes, and an all new tutorial/mission mode with over 80 missions. Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny is slated for a Q3 2009 release!

Tekken 6 on PSP is Official!
Well this wasn't expected... Along with the 360 and PS3 versions coming this fall, Tekken 6 is also on it's way to Playstation Portable! What's unclear (at the moment) is whether this version of Tekken 6 will be based off of the original Tekken 6, or Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion. Since the PSP version is set to release alongside the other console iterations, my bet is it will be based off of Bloodline Rebellion as well.

The PSP version of Tekken 6 will pack additional stages, content, items, and an ad-hoc multiplayer mode using "original" and "fan favorite characters." The Ghost mode from Tekken: Dark Resurrection will also return in the PSP version of Tekken 6, allowing players to battle each others ghosts!

Mystery Marvel VS Capcom 2 Website!?!?!
A new web address has spawned from Capcom's Twitter blog: www.tu4ar.com (Check it out!!!). Upon speculation, this website's initials is actually a hidden phrase: "Take You For a Ride", which as we know is the character selection theme for Marvel VS Capcom 2, not to mention behind the countdown lies a big number "2". This could very well mean MVC2 for next gen consoles will be revealed when the countdown is finished... THIS IS BIG!!!!!

Further Evidence For MVC 2 on PSN & XBLA!
CDWow listed a variety of "Marvel VS Capcom" fight pads for both PS3 and Xbox 360 to be released on July 17th, 2009, but were later taken down as soon as news spread! UK retailer ShopTo.Net also had a listing for a new arcade stick by MadCatz based on MvC2, set for release in July as well. Is this further evidence that Marvel VS Capcom 2 is coming to PS3 & 360 as a downloadable title? First the ESRB ratings, then the Xbox 360 achievements, and now fight pads complete with product descriptions...

All that's missing now is actual confirmation from Sony, Microsoft, or Capcom themselves... They might just be holding out on us. Don't celebrate just yet, but the way things are looking, "MvC2 Online" may be on it's way to next gen consoles very soon!!!

Street Fighter IV Championship Mode!
SF IV's free upgrade will be available for download on April 24th! Championship mode adds some cool new features to SF IV's online mode with the inclusion of Tournament Mode and Replays. Tournament Mode builds upon the battle points system, with players earning "Grad points" to enter higher tier tournaments, where huge amounts of Championship points will be up for grabs. Replays are generated straight from online tournaments, with the top 5000 Championship point leaders able to upload replays.

The PS3 version of the replay function will allow players to rate and tag match videos (similar to that of Youtube); while the Xbox 360 version will allow you to download & save match videos, ands gives you the ability to "turn on" input commands which allows you to watch every joystick command each player makes during a match.

The rumor that MVC2 will appear as a downloadable game for both PS3 and Xbox 360 (complete with online VS mode) has just gotten more fuel, as Xbox360achievements.com has added MVC2 to it's game database, as well a complete list of achievements for the game... LINK. Keep in mind there's still no release date, or official confirmation.

The Official English website for KOF XII has updated it's "Characters" and "System" section! Don't miss the official character bios (in English) and 3 exclusive combo movies featuring Ash, Duo Lon, & Shen!

Also be sure to check out the recently launched KOF 15th Anniversary website, which shows off mysterious "KOF XII style" artwork of K' and Mai, who are now "in speculation" of being included in the home versions of KOF XII (not confirmed)!

Mortal Kombat Leaving Midway?
Angered over the lack of guaranteed bonus payments, The MK development team is "frustrated" with how Midway handled their bankruptcy and is in active talks with other publishers. The MK team is not under contract at Midway, although if they do leave, they likely won't be able to take the MK license with them, and would have to abandon work on the follow-up to MK vs. DC Universe...
