Street Fighter IV on Iphone!?
Yes, they neglected PSP & Wii ports... but this March, Capcom is bringing the acclaimed fighter to Apple's handheld. A virtual 4-button arcade stick has been recreated on the iPhone's touch screen (taking up nearly half the screen) to offer the best controls possible. Capcom has promised that fan-favorite fighters besides Ryu & Ken will cross over to this version and will "round out a large roster," and also claimed that each fighter will have their complete move set, including Ultras (however, I wonder how all priority attacks will be present with only 4 attack buttons on screen). Street Fighter IV on the iPhone will also allow two players to play VS battle over Bluetooth, just like the arcade & console versions.

Samurai Shodown Sen for NA 360!
XSEED Games has announced they will be publishing Samurai Showdown Sen for the Xbox 360 in the United States! As you may know, the localized version of Samurai Spirits Sen was originally called Samurai Shodown: Edge of Destiny, but will now be known as Samurai Shodown Sen in America & Europe. The game is set for a Spring 2010 release.

An "HD Remix" of Neo Geo Battle Coliseum is in the making, and has been confirmed to for XBLA! While it's not exactly going to be HD, character sprites & backgrounds will be up-scaled & smoothed out. This enhancement will also feature new win portraits & brand new stages! The downloadable package will likely be priced around $15!

Super Street Fighter IV JP Bonuses!
In Japan, Capcom will offer players a Collectors Package with the following content: a soundtrack featuring the arranged theme songs for all the new characters, a promotional video collection showing SFIV and Super SFIV trailer clips, and an art collection. This limited edition will run 5,990 yen. Buyers of either version of the game will also get a free "Super Classic Pack" DLC, which will include the new third arranged costumes for Guile, Blanka, Dhalsim, Gen and Fei Long!

Capcom has once again teamed with Studio Gonzo and Afro Samurai director Fuminori Kizaki to produce an original anime, this time centered around the newcomer Juri. In Japan, this will be included exclusively with the 360 version. Knowing Capcom, a similar package should be in the works for the US launch as well! Rising Star picks up Samurai Spirits Sen!
A localized version of Samurai Shodown: Edge of Destiny is set for Europe this Spring under the name of Samurai Shodown Sen (which closely resembles the game's original Japanese title: Samurai Spirits Sen). Rising Star Games, not Ignition Entertainment, will publish Samurai Shodown Sen in PAL regions. As of no though, the game still hasn't been (re)announced for North America.

R.I.P. Heihachi...
Gouri Daisuke, the well known (and loved) Japanese voice actor, passed away last Sunday around 3:00 pm. He was found dead on the street in Nanako, Japan, having bled to death from a wound to his arm. According to the report, a knife was discovered near the scene as well as Gouri's last will and testament. Authorities are investigating this as a possible suicide. He was 57.

Besides being on a significant amount of anime credits, Gouri Daisuke was possibly best known for being the voice of Heihachi Mishima. He also voiced Bass Armstrong in the Dead or Alive series, Edge Master of Soul Calibur, Mister Hercule Satan in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai; and also did voice work for Metal Gear Solid 2 & Final Fantasy XII. He will be missed.


Rest in peace.

Final Fight: Double Impact Frame Option!
Capcom's upcoming downloadable ports of their arcade classics, Final Fight & Magic Sword (coming this April), will feature the option to play the games inside of a frame designed to closely resemble an old, distorted, rounded arcade monitor! It's actually much more impressive looking than the "generic" frames featured in many other downloadable arcade games... actual screenshot below!

Juicy SSF IV Details!
A new Famitsu scan reveals alternate ultra combos for returning SF IV characters (indicated by the "II" lettering near the top). It's confirmed that each character will have 2 ultra combos! Confirmed Ultras: Ryu's Metsu-Shoryuken, a new one for Cammy called "CQC", & C.Viper's is called Burning Dance. New alternate costumes are also shown in the scan below!
