Poppie has always been Galford's dog and best friend. He used to only assist Galford during his fights, but in Samurai Shodown 5 and Tenka, he actually fights on his own.

REVIEW:
Poppie made a great accompaniment to Galford. The duo made a considerable impact in the early Samurai Shodown series, and some of Poppie's original moves were simply epic... Super-high-flying-doggie-piledriver FTW!!! lol.

Galford's design was complimented greatly by this lil fella, but I never expected SNK to actually feature Poppie as a playabale character on his own in Samurai Shodown 5 & 6. Obviously more of a joke than anything else. Poppie's stand-alone movelist is a bit uninspired, and needless to say he worked better as an accompaniment to Galford.
