GENERAL/STORY:
Kai is a descendant
of the family that originally founded the secretive White Lotus Society. Kai is
a former member of this society, as are Liu Kang
and Kung Lao. He
met Liu Kang who happened to be in America at the time, recruiting to train a
new generation of Shaolin warriors. During the events of Mortal Kombat 4,
Liu Kang and Kai join the Earth warriors in Edenia to assist Raiden
in his battle against Shinnok. After
Shinnok was beaten, Kai decided to wander the Earth on a quest for
self-enlightenment.

REVIEW:
Kai was a decent
design when he debuted in MK4 and had some great moves to boot, but
for some reason those knucklehead MK designers decided to completely
change his
design when he finally returned in MK: Armageddon. He used to look like a cool Shaolin
Monk dude, and now he looks like some generic Quake character... or
something. What's with that lame melon-colored armor they just slapped on him... Is that
supposed to be cool? Is that how we remembered him Midway? They also changed his
hair, facial structure, and pretty much made him pretty damn ugly. For
the record, this is how you
ruin a perfectly good design folks... This is why Midway went bankrupt.
